What is health? Have you ever wondered on what is the true definition of health? There are certainly numerous definitions of health that have evolved over the last few decades. There are also various arguments associated with these definitions especially between the traditional definition of health versus the contemporary definition of health.
While understanding health, it is important to understand the factors that affect health. An individual's health is impacted by various social, economical, physical and environmental determinants of health. These multiple determinants of health also aid in understanding the existence of health inequality within various Canadian provinces.
There are numerous chronic diseases that affect people all over the world. Out of the multiple chronic diseases affecting Canadians, I have accumulated resources on cancer being the most predominant chronic disease in my profession. I have gathered articles that state the mortality and morbidity rates of different types of cancers affecting both males and females in Canada.
While researching the impact of health on various population types, it is essential to research about the health of the indigenous community as well. I would like to share my curated resources on the health problems commonly faced by the indigenous people as well as the challenges they face to access healthcare resources.
Vulnerable population is mainly the population that is being under served. Improving the healthcare of the vulnerable population is a topic of discussion world wide. I have gathered resources on the vulnerable population in Canada and the challenges associated with the delivery of healthcare services within this community.
The process of content curation can be quite challenging considering the multiple options available such as Pocket, Diggo, PearlTrees, OneNote etc. I have chosen Pocket as my preferred content curation tool. The reason to chose Pocket as my curation tool is that it is user-friendly and gives the ability to the readers to save and read the articles instantly from anywhere in the world. In order to read any of the articles or learning resources I have gathered in my journey of taking my first course in the Master's of Health Studies program and as healthcare professional, click on the Pocket link below.
